2010 – 2011 Personnel
The
physical health and development of our students is an integral part of our
journey to teach and guide them in all essential areas of growth. Physical education and its relationship
to health are also emphasized because we know these are key factors in the
child’s success in learning.
At
Incarnation Catholic School,
the physical education curriculum provides each student with a variety of
activities designed to develop social awareness and self understanding, as well
as physical skills and knowledge of many lifetime activities and team
sports. Emphasis is also placed on
strength, flexibility, agility and endurance activities presented in the form
of fitness training and testing for the President’s
Fitness Challenge.
Units
in team sports emphasize rules, strategies, teamwork and sportsmanship. While, we acknowledge that winning is
gratifying, our main objective is to teach our athletes to mirror the character
of Christ through their actions and attitudes, on and off the field.
At
ICS, we hope that through our physical education program, students develop a
love for sports, and in doing so, are encouraged to remain physically active
throughout their lifetime.
