Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten
Hi! I am
Beth Anderson and I teach Pre-Kindergarten. Our approach to teaching revolves
around the belief that children, at this young age, learn by doing and
interacting with their environment.
The children receive cognitive preparation, physical coordination,
develop social skills and build independent learning skills utilizing developmentally
appropriate techniques. We use a multi
sensory learning approach to address all areas of the curriculum.
Our daily program
includes Language, Math, Religion, Recess, Centers, Story time, and special
activities. These include Physical Education, Music, Art, Library and Spanish. Social Studies and Science are explored
through weekly themes. We are also
working on social skills throughout the year which include manners,
cooperation, sharing, taking turns, proximity control and patience. We want the children to beware of others
feelings.
We are using
“The Letter People” which is a core program. It is a comprehensive curriculum
organized around themes that integrate knowledge across all subject areas. The Letter People make the learning
process fun. The children enjoy the
silly songs and imaginative stories that go along with each letter. The Letter People, our teachers, parents
and God’s love and grace help us daily to reach for the stars!
